Research In Motion announced and introduced many new products and applications at CES 2010. With all of the information available, the direction or product roadmap of the company may not be clear to end users. Fortunately, James Poulton, Director of Product Management for accessories for RIM was able to spend some time with PhoneReport to clarify the path and explain the strategy of the company. Poulton stated that “accessories and peripherals extend the BlackBerry envelope to other areas, in vehicle and in home audio/visual, creating a converged experience”. RIM recognizes that the BlackBerry has become an integral part of users’ lives, and that the device can expand the user experience to include other functions that enhance their experiences. BlackBerry brand accessories will become an important part of that convergence.
