Mozilla claims that its new Firefox Mobile browser could be the beginning of the end for the hugely popular app stores created by Apple and its ilk. Mozilla is releasing the first version of Firefox Mobile (codenamed Fennec) on Nokia’s N900 handset, with versions for Windows Mobile and Android set to arrive next year.

Nokia N900 Would have Maemo/MeeGo Dual-Boot
The Nokia N900 SDK V1.2 update is expected to hit later this week and will bring with it a host of changes to the core OS. However, it looks like the release won?t be offering support for dual-boot with the upcoming MeeGo OS.

Nokia announced today that the N900 can be pre-ordered in Singapore from now to Mar 26 from Available for S$999, the Maemo-based device has a ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration. It comes with 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 48GB with a microSD card.

Nokia N900 Can Be Used As A Wi-Fi Hotspot With Joiku
Joiku, who are a mobile software developer, have announced its JoikuSoft application will be coming to the Maemo platform. The software, which is already available on the Symbian platform, enables you to turn your mobile into a Wi-Fi hotspot. The Maemo version will mean you can use your Nokia N900 3G connectivity to share internet with your laptop and any other Wi-Fi device.
