KDDI adopts Android with Sharp's IS01 communicator

KDDI became the last Japanese carrier to adopt Android on Tuesday with the addition of the unusual Sharp IS01. A “communicator” rather than a phone, the handheld is unique in having the 5-inch, 960×540 display of a MID (mobile Internet device) but the notebook-like design and 1GHz Snapdragon processor of a smartbook.

Toshiba unveils small Canvio drives, including 1TB flagship

Toshiba on Monday released the Canvio line of portable hard drives, with the range-topping model being the 1TB Canvio Plus. Each has a function that lets users set up automatic backups in the preloaded Windows-based NTI BackupNow EZ software. Each has a USB 2.0 connection that also powers the drives, along with an internal shock sensor and anti-slip rubberized side grip.
